Rice mill Effluent is that effluent
which is produced from PAR Boiled section. It contain high quantity of pollutants
and need to treat before discharge into inland surface or reuse.
Basic Need:
It is the basic need of designers or any Rice Millers/Operators about "Rice Mill Effluent Treatment" and before that they should have an idea about the characteristic of Rice mill effluent, process of treatments available in the markets etc.
Characteristic of Hospital Wastewater:
In general Rice mill effluent is a tough matter because it contains high organic and inorganic substances and that lead to pollution of surface an in land discharge. The effluent has high Biological oxygen demand (BOD), Chemical oxygen demand (COD), and Total Dissolved solid (TDS). Effluent characteristics of a rice mill vary depending on the type of rice being processed and reuse of PAR Boiled Water in the Rice Mill.
Other than above there is low concentration of DO (Dissolved Oxygen) Nitrate, Phosphate, Sulphate and moderately high concentration of Chloride and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) Sodium, Phenols, Silica and starch etc. in Rice Mill Effluent. Due to high concentration of TSS, TDS, DOD, COD as recommended in Standard, it is said to dangerous and to discharge into inland surface as well as on land for irrigation.
There are so many advance technologies to resolve
question "Rice Mill Effluent Treatment" in the
market and such of them are:-
b. Ozonisation Technology,
c. Both Chemical and Biological Technology etc.
Discussion Topic | Both Chemical and Biological
Treatment Process:
As per our idea and application, Both Chemical and Biological Treatment method are
chef , best and effective method and resolve question that "Rice Mill Effluent Treatment".
FMR/SBR/ASP technology are used in so many Rice Mill, but not successful due to it limitation.
The Process Flow Description:
O & Grease Trap/Primary Tank- to to prevent entry of Oil & Grease, solids into the system.
Remove by physical or physio mechanical process.
Some of small particle, suspended solids are deposited into bottom of the tank and will remove periodically.
pH Corrected and flocculated effluent is then over flow into the primary clarifier.
The main objective of this treatment level is to remove organic load present in rice mill effluent by aerobic process(Active Sludge Process).
The digested water is then allowed to flow into the Secondary Clarifier where sludge will settle just below the clarifier.
The supernatant water what is collected into the Pre-Treated Water Tank is pumped through PSF & ACF Tertiary treatment to remove residual suspended solids and for further removal of BOD & COD.
The filtrated water is then passed through disinfection system online after PSF & ACF for disinfection and for final polishing of the filtrated water.
The Sludge from both Primary and Secondary Clarifiers are allowed to sludge drying system and bagged for disposal.
